Three powerful resources to help new parents understand and meet the emotional needs of their babies and toddlers. The Foundations of a Family series is designed as a curriculum for teaching nurturing skills to new parents and written at an elementary reading level for easy comprehension.

Each card is designed as a keepsake for framing or saving.

The Promise Card

The Promise Card is a powerful resource for encouraging family investiture in a newborn. The card focuses concretely on the development of an emotionally rich bond between parents and their newborn – the first vital step in the prevention of abuse.

The Promise Card unfolds to become a beautiful keepsake – inside, parents and caretakers are asked to sign a Promise of Care to their newborn.

An 8-panel card with full-color artwork by artist and book illustrator Sharon McGinley-Nally. Each card comes with its own protective envelope, suitable for mailing or gift-giving. The universal gender and racial characteristics of the art make it appropriate for all families. Pronouns address both female and male infants throughout the text.

The Nurturing Cards

The Nurturing Cards describe in simple, concrete terms the powerful impact parents have on their babies in their everyday care taking.  Caregivers can use the cards as a complete set or one at a time to help parents gain an understanding of the many ways they can act daily to build an emotionally strong relationship with their baby.

The Nurturing Cards address topics under the headings: Remembering, Holding, Learning, Playing, Teaching, Talking, and Listening.

The Nurturing Cards are written for parents of babies from newborn to about age 18 months. Seven separate cards are beautifully packaged in glassine envelopes and sized for easy 5 x 7 framing. Drawings by children’s book illustrator Sharon McGinley-Nally are enhanced by a rainbow of pastel colors. Easy-to-read text is appropriate for all reading levels.

The Growing Cards

The Growing Cards offer advocates the means for an on-going discussion about the emotional development of toddlers and how it relates to their behavior. The cards give parents specific ideas as well as support for dealing with the challenges of the toddler years: separation anxiety, independence, assertion, fears, and building self-esteem.

The Growing Cards are entitled: Independence, Fears, Making Choices, Being Good, Remembering and Wonder.

The Growing Cards are designed for families of toddlers, age 18 months to about 3 years. Six brightly colored cards are beautifully packaged in glassine envelopes and sized for easy 5 x 7 framing. Drawings of mothers, fathers and children are by artist and book illustrator Sharon McGinley-Nally, and are augmented by bold warm colors. Easy-to-read text is appropriate for all reading levels.
